About the Speaker
Norman Dart, VDACS State Plant Pathologist

Based out of Richmond Virginia Norm has worked on a variety of quarantine plant disease projects and statewide surveys; including Phytophthora ramorum, thousand cankers disease of black walnut, ralstonia, chrysanthemum white rust, karnal bunt, and the plum pox virus. Norm has a masters of science in plant pathology from Washington State University. He has served the state of Virginia for almost 9 years as the state plant pathologist. Since the introduction of boxwood blight in 2011 Dart has taken an active role in outreach and serving as a balancing link between extension, industry and regulatory work.
