Introduction to Biophilic Design Webinar
Learn how incorporating nature into our buildings and landscapes can result in a 15% increase in well-being, creativity and productivity.  Discover why people sleep better and are 56% more relaxed in biophilic residences; students in biophilic schools have higher test scores; and hospitals could save $93 million due to more rapid patient healing.  Rebecca will describe the key features of biophilic design including natural materials and patterns, complex but ordered landscapes, kinetic sculptures, atriums, water features, natural pools, swim spas, green walls.  Finally she will discuss strategies for working with green builders and architects to incorporate these into designs.

About the speaker:

Rebecca is one of the Northeast’s leading green industry professionals exploring the intersection between Nature and Human Living Spaces.  She trained as an environmental scientist and worked with EPA for 9 years before shifting to sustainable design in 2001.  She is a VT Certified Horticulturist, a Professional Designer, and a WELL Building AP.  For 14 years she co-owned Linden L.A.N.D. Group in Shelburne VT, an ecological landscape design/build company, with her husband, Tim.  They recently closed the business and now Rebecca manages the Gardeners Supply Company flagship store in Williston, VT, where she keeps an eye on emerging trends in the garden and landscape industries.  In her entertaining presentations, Rebecca provides a behind-the-scenes look at the demand for biophilic/nature-based design, the restoration of native plants/habitat/pollinators, and how this awareness is changing the way people enhance their properties.
